The Natural World Desk Calendar Overview

Outstanding photography in the Natural World desk calendar captures the character of wildlife from all over the world in fine detail, with two contrasting images of animals from many continents - a must for all nature-lovers.

Each outstanding photo brings the animals up close, for instance, on one page we see a leopard, photographed in Kenya. This powerful elegant cat with a distinctive rosetted coat and a very long tail is a versatile, solitary and usually nocturnal hunter. Its strength allows it to carry prey up to three times its own body weight and hide it from other predators in the bough of a tree. A bearded seal is pictured in another image in the Arctic Ocean. The largest of the Arctic seals, the bearded seal has a large grey-brown body with very tough skin to resist tough Arctic conditions, a small head and square fore-flippers. It is distinguishable by its thick whiskers or beard and its long, high pitched trilling song which can be heard up to 20km away.
