The photo for March features the Hermitage Bridge, near Dunkeld, Perth and Kinross. Water tumbles through a mossy chasm under this ancient stone bridge across the River Braan. Built in 1770, it stands in the grounds of The Hermitage, a NTS site in the Perthshire forest, designed as a pleasure ground for the Dukes of Atholl. December’s wintry image shows Lochan Na h-Achlaise, Rannoch Moor, Highland. With the distant snow-clad peaks of the Black Mount range in the background and its margins coated in hoar frost, this small tranquil loch has a truly atmospheric setting. It is located on Rannoch Moor, a vast, remote treeless wilderness of lochans and streams, covered with granite boulders.
