Three meerkats in Botswana are depicted on one page. These appealing and gregarious creatures live in large protective groups called gangs, mobs or clans of about 20-30 meerkats and build burrows with various entrances. While the rest of the group are inside, asleep or grooming, sharing food or dashing about outside, some of the meerkats stand upright to guard the burrow, looking out for danger. Another beautiful mage shows a grey wolf in Alaska. The largest of the wolf species, also known as the timber wolf, it inhabits remote areas, travelling and hunting in troops of 5-9 members. Wolves sometimes howl in chorus and can be heard from far away by other members of the pack.
