Beaghmore Stone Circles, Tyrone is featured in one photo. This atmospheric early Bronze Age site lay buried under a thick layer of peat until its discovery in the late 1930s. It was probably used for religious ceremonies or social gatherings and consists of 7 stone circles linked to 12 cairns with 10 stone rows. One circle is filled with over 800 small upright stones, known as 'the dragon's teeth'. Another image depicts the ruined Dunluce Castle in County Antrim. Offering fabulous views over the ocean, it is set on the edge of a basalt outcrop with steep cliffs dropping off on all sides and reached by a bridge to the mainland. The present ruins date from the 16th and 17th centuries. It was inhabited by both the feuding McQuillan and MacDonnell clans and abandoned in the 1680s.
