In February there's a stunning image of a footbridge over a beck in the Rannerdale Valley in the Lake District. The short walk featured begins just north of Buttermere and ascends the lovely Rannerdale Valley, famous for its bluebells in late spring. It follows a well-defined ridge to the summit of Rannerdale Knotts (355m), a beautiful small fell. There are panoramic views of Buttermere lake and village and along Crummock Water to Loweswater and Lorton Vale.
