British Wildlife Calendar Overview

The British Wildlife calendar presents six alluring images of elusive wild creatures which we rarely see, bringing us up close to them. One photo features a goshawk, a powerful, fierce-looking raptor with a prominent brow and wings designed for weaving through trees to hunt its prey. It flies low and makes short dashes to seize birds and small mammals. It is always seen solitarily or in pairs and is highly territorial. The nest is reused for several years. A Scottish wildcat is depicted in another photo. Britain's only wild species of cat, resembling a large tabby cat, with long, thick fur, a powerful body and a blunt, bushy tail marked with black rings, the wildcat is found in Scotland on remote hills, moors and in forestry plantations. Rather timid, it usually hunts alone or in a pair at dawn or dusk, resting up during the day in a den.
