Unexpected Guests at the Factory

Nest of Bees

This morning, much to our surprise, we were greeted by a swarm of honey bees near the gates to the Rose Calendars factory!

Apparently, Bees tend to swarm in Spring/Summer as new Queens move out from the main hive. The swarm occurs as the Queen and workers find somewhere to roost for a day or so while scouts look around for suitable hive locations and then move on.

We did have someone lined up to take our guests away to an empty hive, but they left of their own accord before he got here!
