St Helena Hospice Calendar

Rose Calendars have joined forces with other members of a local business group to produce a charity fundraising calendar in aid of St Helena Hospice.

12 businesses from the Severalls Business Group chose to create a calendar based around the events which are organised throughout the year to raise money for the hospice, featuring a business and an event on each month. The Rose Calendars event featured on the month of April is the ‘Pier to Pier Walk’. The sponsored walk or trek of seven or fourteen miles between Walton on the Naze and Clacton on Sea in Essex, takes place in Spring every year and has proven to be a very successful fundraiser for the hospice.

At a launch event on 31st August, stars of the calendar came together to admire the collection of images for the first time, and were pleased to see themselves in print.

In the calendar husband and wife team Michael (Managing Director) and Elizabeth (Marketing Manager) Rose don walking gear and giant sticks of rock as walking poles, as they set off on the walk along the Essex coastline.

Other photos from fellow businesses to promote events include check shirted lumberjacks promoting Christmas tree recycling, Christmas jumpers in a snow globe for ‘Kickstart Christmas’, Wonder Woman representing the ‘Comic Hero Run’ and even a skydive. All the images were created by Cliqq Photography and culminate in a fun, colourful calendar.

The production of the calendar has been possible within the Birkett Long £50 challenge for 2018 where businesses take the £50 kindly donated by Birkett Long and are challenged to make it into as much as possible in imaginative ways.

Sarah Wilson of St Helena Hospice comments “It is wonderful to have Severalls Business Group involved with the Birkett Long £50 Challenge for 2018.  Since the inception in 2012 the challenge has raised over £230,000 and hopefully this year will be another great success thanks to the local companies taking part like SBG.  Some of the companies within the networking group have taken part previously but it’s great to see them all join together to form a team and work towards turning their £50 into much more for St Helena.”
