New ‘Donation Station’ Installed for St Helena Hospice
Rose Calendars have had a long established relationship with St Helena Hospice, and we’ve now taken this to a new level in supporting their work through an initiative designed to recycle staff’s donations from home in the work place.
Ruth Jennings, Corporate Fundraiser joined staff at her regular catch-up session this month, to officially launch the donation collection scheme. Employees were able to chat to Ruth during their lunchbreak, where she explained how easy it is to bring any donations to work and simply place these in the collection bin. Clothes, shoes, bags, bric a brac, household items, books, toys, and a whole host of many other items can be donated. Once collected by St Helena depot staff, the items are sorted then distributed to the charity shops around Colchester, from where they hopefully find a new home, bringing our policy of recycling and re-use into generating funds for the charity.
Ruth also took the opportunity to talk about up and coming fund-raising events which St Helena are running and offer staff a passport for events supported. She is always such a breath of fresh air when she visits! She has time to listen and understand when staff need to talk, which the hospice supports. As Corporate Sponsors, Rose Calendars are pleased to continue our work with St Helena and to introduce useful recycling and re-use at the same time.
